How It Works

How It Works
The Process

A structured path, not a shortcut

Ketamine-assisted therapy can feel confusing at first. KetamineHubs keeps the process structured and transparent, you’ll always know what step you’re in, what happens next, and why.

The process moves through three phases: intake and clinical review, care planning and preparation, and then sessions with structured follow-up. Each phase has a clear purpose and defined expectations before you move forward.

KetamineHubs care process

Three steps to care

Every person starts in the same place and moves through the same stages.

01 01

Complete your intake

A confidential eligibility questionnaire covers your medical history, mental health background, current medications, and your support environment. This gives the clinical team what they need to assess fit accurately.

02 02

Clinician review

A licensed clinician reviews your intake and meets with you to ask follow-up questions. The outcome is clear: eligible, not eligible, or needs clarification. If this pathway isn’t right for you, you’ll know quickly and honestly.

03 03

Your care program

If eligible, you receive a structured program: preparation guidance, session planning, integration resources, and clinician oversight throughout. Clinical team supervision is required for all in-person sessions at our Clinton center.

Before sessions

What preparation means here

Preparation is practical, not ceremonial. Before your first session you’ll receive clear guidance on what to expect and what to arrange.

  • Environment setup

Clear instructions on creating a calm, safe, comfortable setting for your session, lighting, sound, temperature, and layout.

  • Schedule and timing

Guidance on when to schedule sessions relative to your week, downtime after, avoiding high-stress periods beforehand.

  • Fasting and medication

Specific guidance on food, alcohol, and medications before sessions. Your care team reviews any interactions that apply to you.

  • Clinical supervision

Every in-person session is supervised by our clinical team at the Clinton, MD center.

During treatment

What happens during a session

Sessions follow a defined structure. Your care team reviews safety criteria before each one and you follow clear protocols throughout.

  • Safety check-in

Before each session your care team confirms you’ve followed preparation guidelines and that no new risk factors have emerged.

  • Clear safety rules

No alcohol, no driving or operating machinery until after a full night’s sleep following the session. These are non-negotiable requirements.

  • clinical team supervision present throughout

Your clinician and on-site care staff supervise the session from start to finish and respond to concerns in real time.

  • Medical monitoring

Your clinical team monitors relevant factors including blood pressure, medication interactions, and session response across your program.

Integration and follow-up
After sessions

Integration and follow-up

Care doesn’t end with a session. What happens after is where a lot of the work gets consolidated.

After each session you’ll receive integration prompts — structured reflection tools to help you process what came up and apply it in a grounded way. Clinician check-ins happen throughout your program to review how things are going and whether any adjustments are needed.

The goal isn’t just completing a course of sessions. It’s building the conditions for change to hold.
